H&A is now looking for an HR Assistant to join our growing HR department.

Reporting to the HR Advisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Keeping HR and training systems up to date
  • Assist with recruitment process
  • New starter contracts of employment
  • Working closely with payroll; ensuring hours are logged correctly and checking overtime
  • Employee engagement tasks
  • Attending communication meetings as HR representative
  • Point of contact for staff agencies
  • Completing all general HR administration
  • Any other reasonable task


The successful candidate will:-

  • Be personable and able to build effective relationships.
  • Have strong IT skills.
  • Have excellent time management skills/organisational skills, and be able to prioritise their own day.
  • Have the ability to use their initiative and work with minimum supervision.
  • Preferably have experience of HR in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferably be qualified to A ‘Level or CIPD Level 3.

We are now looking for an Assistant Quality Manager to join our busy QA team.


Reporting to the Quality Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Co-ordinating HACCP across the site:- maintaining records; ensuring conformance and monitoring CCP controls
  • Coordinating legislative and customer ensuring production is completed to requirements.
  • Advising, maintaining and reviewing policies, procedures and documentation in line with BRC, quality, legislation and customer requirements.
  • Act as site lead for audits – conduct internal auditing in line with the company’s audit schedule. Communicating outcomes and reporting all NCRs; monitoring and traceability whilst maintaining Q-pulse audit records
  • Conduct and lead BRC and other external audits
  • Site lead for environmental responsibilities
  • Recommend, support and introduce improvement initiatives to improve both team and factory performance in line with developments within the industry.
  • Supervision of 8 QC Operatives, Ensure that the Company’s Quality Control is adhered to and the Customer Quality requirements are met; ensure all Lab equipment is in good working order and calibrated as required.
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Quality Manager, including deputising


The successful candidate will ideally:-

  • Have a good understanding of the importance of Health and Safety and the requirement of PPE.
  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Knowledge of QPulse desirable
  • Experience in NPD / Production introduction advantageous
  • Environmental policy experience desirable
  • Preferably be qualified to A’ Level standard in science (or to an equivalent standard).
  • Be able to follow strict procedures and guidelines.
  • Be thorough, with good attention to detail.
  • Be conscientious & reliable.
  • Be able to work as part of a team.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Be computer literate.
  • Have some experience in quality control in a production environment.


Working hours are 8.30am-5pm Monday-Friday with one hour unpaid lunch break.
